Terms of Service
Wakemeapp · Last updated: 28 September 2026
These terms govern the use of the Wakemeapp application and of this website. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.
1 Who provides the service
Wakemeapp is developed and provided by an independent developer, who can be reached at support@wakemeapp.app
2 What the app does
Wakemeapp is a free alarm clock for Android. You set the alarms yourself, with a time and the days of the week, and you can also connect your calendar accounts: the app reads them in read-only mode and turns the appointments carrying the chosen mark into alarms, at the time each appointment starts. The app never creates, edits or deletes anything in your calendar.
The app also offers a GPS alarm: you choose a destination, the means of transport and how many minutes before arrival you want to be woken; while it is active, the app follows your position and estimates when you will arrive. It is not a navigation system.
The app also offers a weather alert: for the places you choose, it notifies you about an hour before the rain, thunderstorms, snow or hail forecast by Google Weather.
3 What is needed, and what is up to you
The app needs a device with Android 6 or later, the permissions it asks for and, for calendar alarms, an account that you connect yourself. It is up to you to:
- grant the permissions for notifications, exact alarms and full-screen display, and keep them active;
- keep the device switched on, charged, and at a volume you can actually hear;
- exclude the app from the automatic hibernation of unused apps;
- for the GPS alarm, keep location switched on and precise and, if you are driving, set it up before leaving and do not handle the phone while you drive;
- use the app lawfully, and only with devices and accounts that are yours. The app is not intended for children under 13.
4 The app does not guarantee that the alarm will ring
This is the most important point. Wakemeapp schedules alarms through the Android system, and there are conditions outside the developer’s control in which an alarm may ring late or not ring at all:
- the device is switched off, out of battery, restarting, or in silent, do not disturb or airplane mode;
- the operating system, the manufacturer’s software or a battery saver suspends the app, revokes its permissions or hibernates it after a period without use;
- the permissions for notifications, exact alarms or full-screen display are missing or have been revoked;
- there is no network connection, the calendar cannot be reached, or the appointment was created or moved after the last check;
- the clock or the time zone of the device is wrong, or the chosen ringtone file has been deleted or is unavailable;
- for the GPS alarm, the arrival is an estimate based on position, speed and route: tunnels and places without signal, stops, traffic, a route other than the expected one or an imprecise position can make it ring earlier or later than you chose, or not at all;
- for the weather alert, forecasts can be wrong or change: the rain may come earlier, later or not at all, and an alert may arrive late or not at all, for instance without a connection;
- Google, Microsoft, Samsung or the device manufacturer change their services, their interfaces or their rules, or a fault in the app or in the system prevents it from working.
5 Do not rely on it alone when it really matters
The app is a convenience, not a safety system. For anything that really matters, such as work shifts, flights, exams, medication or medical appointments, always set a second independent alarm. Do not use Wakemeapp as the only way to wake up in situations where failing to wake up can cause harm to you or to others.
The weather alert does not replace official warnings: in severe weather, follow those of civil protection and the local authorities.
6 Limitation of liability
The app is provided free of charge and as it is, with no promise of continuity, absence of errors or suitability for a specific purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for damage arising from an alarm that rings late, does not ring, or rings when it should not, nor for indirect damage such as loss of earnings, missed appointments, missed transport or consequences at work.
This limitation does not apply to wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor to harm to life or personal health, and it does not affect the mandatory rights that consumer law gives you.
7 Third party services
The app uses Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook through their official interfaces, and it is distributed through Google Play. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, which apply to their part, and their availability, their changes and any interruptions are outside the developer’s control.
For the GPS alarm and the weather alert the app uses Google Maps Platform (Places, Routes and Weather), which is subject to the Google Maps Platform Terms.
8 Intellectual property
The name Wakemeapp, the logo, the graphics and the contents of this site belong to the developer. You are granted a personal, non exclusive and non transferable right to use the app. Any source code published on GitHub is governed by the licence stated in that repository.
9 Changes, suspension and closure
The app and these terms can change over time: the version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of the last update, and continuing to use the app means accepting it. You can stop using the app at any moment by uninstalling it and disconnecting your calendar accounts. The service may be modified, suspended or discontinued, and significant changes will be announced on this site.
10 Privacy
How the app treats your data is explained in theprivacy policy, which is an integral part of these terms.
11 Applicable law and contact
These terms are governed by Italian law, without prejudice to the mandatory protections of the country where you live as a consumer. For anything concerning these terms you can write to support@wakemeapp.app
